Co-owner, and lead Pilates instructor, Robin Warden Blum began taking Pilates to strengthen her posture and technique as a professional dancer. Robin received her dance training from North Carolina School of the Arts and East Carolina University. She has performed with Atlanta Ballet, Southern Ballet Theatre, Columbia City Ballet, and has appeared as a guest artist throughout Europe and the Eastern United States.

While dancing with Atlanta Ballet, Robin began her apprenticeship with Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska, and teacher trainers Sari Pace and Juanita Lopez. Under their leadership, Robin was certified and began teaching in 1997. Since that time, Robin has furthered her studies with Romana, participating in many continuing education seminars and conventions led by Romana herself, and the teacher trainers she hand selects.

In 2006 Robin was awarded the Level 4 status with "Romana's Pilates", in which she assists in the training of future instructors. Robin has a true passion for Pilates and is inspired by her clients and the remarkable changes it has made in their lives, and her own.

Lori (Medders) Schneider is co-owner of body central, and instructs clients in both Pilates and acupressure. She has practiced Pilates since 1997 and instructed the method since 2000. She began practicing acupressure in 2002 and has instructed since 2003.

Lori's experience with Pilates began after she heard about it from a friend in New York. She thought it sounded like exercise that could help her gain flexibility and correct postural imbalances she developed due to childhood injuries. Lori began practicing at the age of 29 at the Pilates Studio at the Atlanta Ballet with teacher Penelope Wyer, and then apprentices Robin Warden and Emily Bradley. After just a few weeks of working within the method, she realized that her level of body awareness was much higher than before Pilates and that she was gaining strength as well as flexibility. Amazed at the day-to-day improvements she saw and felt in her body, Lori began taking private sessions twice weekly, and by the end of a year of Pilates practice decided to apprentice in the method. Since 1999, Lori has trained with master Pilates teachers Juanita Lopez, Romana , and Sari Pace in Atlanta, Chicago and New York. She works with a wide variety of clients, and focuses on each person's quality of movement according to individual needs and goals.

Lori became interested in acupressure in 2002 as a result of an autoimmune illness she faced. After taking acupressure sessions for several weeks, she was amazed to begin to recouperate from the symptoms of the disease. During 2003, she studied acupressure formally at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California, and became certified in the method in that year. Lori periodically returns to the Institute for advanced training in the following specialties: Acupressure for Sports, Acupressure for Pain and Acupressure for Seniors.

Lori holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business from the University of Alabama (1990) and a PhD in Business Administration from Georgia State University (1995). In addition to her work at body central, she serves as a professor on regular faculty within the Department of Risk Management at Georgia State University, where she has been since fall 1999. Outside of work, Lori enjoys hiking and rock climbing, and loves to combine these with travel.

After a serious foot injury, Florence Fitzgerald Childs was encouraged by George Balanchine, Artistic Director of The New York City Ballet, to begin Pilates. She danced professionally for the Company from 1979-1990 under the direction of Mr. Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Peter Martins. One of her greatest honors was being chosen personally by Mr. Balanchine to be among on the last generation to work directly for him. Other highlights include performing at the White House, touring extensively through Europe, Asia and the United States, performing in a feature film and being a soloist in "Live from Studio 8-H," and ABC Special.
